A few projects

Hey bloggers!!! I have been missing for a while. Work has been keeping me busy. I have had time to get some crafting in but just haven't had time to post anything. So today I decided to share the birthday card I made my mom with you and the retirement card I made for someone at work.

First up is the birthday card I made for my mom. I made this "quilt" card. I can't remember what the name of the paper pack I used was, but I thought it was really cute for a quilt. I also used some vintage photo distress ink to ink up the edges. I used the sewing machine to sew it all together. I found the ribbon in my stash, I knew it needed something like ribbon or twine but I just couldn't find what I wanted and finally came across it and thought that was the perfect little touch.

Next up is the retirement card I made for our retiring activity director at the assisted living facility I work at. We decided to give her a western themed going away party because western is just her kind of thing. So I used a martha stewart 6 x 6 pad I had that had all kind of bandana patterns. I cut the horse out from create a critter. All paper is papertrey ink. This card was a little bigger than the normal card because we needed room for all of our residents to sign.

I hope you all enjoy my cards for today, and hopefully I will be back soon
with a few more projects.

My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge

Today I have a project for Emma at My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday challenge. This week's challenge is to use a cricut lite cartridge and bling. I used the four legged friends cartridge for this turtle. I think he is just so cute. I used some stickles on the flowers on his shell for the bling.
The thank you is from one Emma's stamp set So Grateful For You. I can't remember the name of the paper pack that the background paper is from, but the rest of the paper and card base is from papertrey ink. The twine is some I had in my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today.

Father's Day

Hello bloggers! I know I have been away for a while, but work calls. I have gotten several projects done in the past few weeks, I just haven't had time to post them. I decided today to share the father's day card I made.

I used craft card stock for the base, and vintage cream for the mat. I then used the polka dot basics stamp set from papertrey ink. First I stamped the polka dot outline, to make the background then used the solid polka dot to fill it in. I used barn door, wild honey, and walnut stain distress inks, and a blue memento ink pad to fill in the dots. I then used some versamark and went over each dot and then used clear embossing powder just to give it a little something extra. I then used vintage photo distress ink to go over the entire background to give in a more distressed look.

I used the alphabet cartridge that comes in the cricut expression 2 to cut out dad. I used terracota tile, ripe avocado, and dark chocolate papertrey ink paper. I felt like it still needed something so I used some twine and a button from my stash on the bottom.

I hope you all enjoyed my card today, and hopefully I will have a few more projects to post in the near future.

Graduation Cards

Hello bloggers. I promised to share with you some graduation cards I made. I finally took pictures and loaded them to my computer, so here they are. I have 4 family members that are graduating this year 2 from high school and 2 from 8th grade. I only have three pictures because two of them are graduating from the same school and same grade, so theirs are the same.

All the cards have the same style. I will use the blue and yellow card as an example for giving measurements. Each one is a standard A2 size card, which is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. The bottom yellow mat is 4 x 51/4 inches, the next blue mat is 3 3/4 x 5 inches. The top yellow mat is 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches, the bottom yellow is 3 1/2 x 2/ 1/2 inches. The white piece that is stamped on is 1 3/4 x 3 1/4 inches. The pattern paper is 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches. The hat was cut from everyday paper dolls cricut cartridge at 1 inches, I think.
All papers except for the pattern paper are papertrey ink. The colors I used are summer sunrise, enchanted evening, spring rain, vintage cream, true black, and pure poppy. The pattern paper is a double sided paper by TPC studio, the pattern paper on the second card is the back of the pattern paper on the top card.
The stamp is a stampibilities stamp I got at Hobby Lobby, I used memento black ink to stamp it. The stamped piece and the hat are both poped up. These cards are kind of heavy and would probably require extra postage, but luckily I will be hand delivering these.

I just love how these cards turned out, I just started playing around one day and out came these cards. I hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Cupcake Card

Hello bloggers! Tonight I would like to show you a card I made several weeks ago. About a month ago I went to CKC St. Louis, while I was up that way I stopped at Archiver's it is the closest one I have and I just love that store. Anyway while I was there I found this stamp set from Inky Antics that you use with their honeycomb paper.

In order to use these stamps you stamp the image on the honeycomb paper and cut it out according to their directions. Once you get it cut out and have the card folded the way they say in the directions you simply adhere the image to the inside and when you open the card you have a cute pop up surprise.
There was a cherry stamped on top of this cupcake but I decided to add a little red pompom I think it just really helped set it off. The base card, and brown mat is paper from papertrey ink, the honeycomb paper and stamps are both from inky antics, the ribbon is just some I have in my stash. I also used a cuttlebug folder on the brown mat, I'm not sure what the name of that folder is.

I hope you enjoy this card today. I will be back in a few days to share with you some graduation cards I made. I just love them they turned out super cute.

A few projects.

Hey bloggers!! First up is a set of notecards I made for one of my nieces teacher for teacher appreciation week. I used create a critter cartridge, the stamp and paper are from papertrey ink, the flower and ribbon are both some that I just had in my stash.

I made a set of 5 with envelopes to match. These cards measure 3 x 3 inches. The green layer is 2 3/4 x 2 3/4. I think the bird was cut at 2 3/4 inches also.

This is the first card I made with my new cricut. This little guy is from the just a note cartridge that comes preloaded on the cricut. The background stamp is from Emma from My Creative Times stamp set Fun Borders, which you can order by going HERE. I did the background by stamping it 4 times with versamark ink then used clear embossing powder.

Once again all paper is from papertrey ink, the twine is from the twinery and the button is one I had in my stash. This card is a standard A2 size card so it measures 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 inches. The blue layer is cut at 5 1/4 X 4 inches. The little bear I think it is was cut at 3 3/4 inches. I hope everyone enjoyed the two cards today.

Ashley :)

It's HERE!!!!!

Thats right the new Cricut Expression 2 Anniversary Edition is here. I was very surprised when I checked the order status of it yesterday morning before work and it said it was out of delivery. When I first ordered it, it said it wouldn't be here till the 5th. My thoughts on the machine is it is very easy to use, but will take some getting use to, but I love it. I'm so glad I bought it.

I will be posting pictures of a few projects I have been working on and just haven't had the time to post in a few minutes. I will also be posting my first project I made with my new cricut. I hope everyone has a good day and a great weekend.

Hello bloggers!! So how many of you bought the new cricut expression 2 last night/today? I did and I'm so excited I cant wait to get mine in the mail. I didn't pay the extra shipping to get it here quicker I can wait, at least I think I can. I am going to be finishing up a few projects today and hopefully having something to show you later tonight. It has been very nasty here where I live lots of rain and storms, and lot of flooding going on, and it sounds like the rain isn't going to stop for a while. I hope everyone has a good day, and if you haven't already bought the new cricut I have a feeling HSN will be sold out of them after this next airing so you better go and get one.

Happy Crafting.

Easter Card

Hello everyone!! Today I would like to share with you a quick easter card I made. I used my simply charmed cartridge and my gypsy to make this shape card. I welded the base cut together to make the card and then cut out all the layers.

All the paper used is from papertrey ink. I just love all of their products. I also used a peachy keen stamp, it is from the critter faces large set. The twine I used is from the twinery. I also used some old paper and vintage photo distress ink. I used the old paper distress ink around the chick and the vintage photo around the egg.

I hope everyone enjoys my card for today.

Get Well

Hi bloggers!! I would like to say hello to my new followers thanks to Momo from Made by Momo, and I would also like to say thank you to Momo for allowing us to link our blogs to hers in order to get new followers.

Today I would like to share with everyone a simple get well card I made.
I used the fillable jar stamps and the spring fillable set from papertrey ink. I got these stamps a few weeks ago and have just now had time to play with them.
All of my paper is also from papertrey ink. I used my prismacolor pencils to do all the coloring.
I didnt have a stamp small enough to stamp get well soon in the little tag so I just wrote it in.

I used black memento ink for all the stamping, and also used some wild honey, tea dye, and vintage photo distress ink. I used the wild honey on the border around the top of the jar, I used the tea dye on the tag, and vintage photo around the edges.

I hope everyone had enjoyed this card. I will be posting another cute easter shape card I made sometime this weekend.

Doggie Card

Hello bloggers!! I haven't posted in a while, I've been busy working a lot. I was going through some pictures on my computer tonight and came across this card, I forgot I made.

I made this card for a friend of mine to give to her nephew for his bday. It was a very simply and quick card. Everything was cut from Create a Critter cricut cartridge. I am not sure of the dimensions but I think I cut the dog out at 3 inches and the house at 2 inches.

I hope you all enjoy this simple card tonight.

Pee-eew

Hello everyone!! It has been a while since I have posted any projects. I have been making them just haven't had time to post. So today before I get ready to go to work I decided to share one of my favorite cards I have made recently.

I got this skunk from create a critter cricut cartridge. My mom wanted me to make a mean but cute card for my uncle. He has a very good sense of humor so we knew this wouldn't hurt his feelings.

I can't remember any of the measurements for this card.
I hope you enjoy it.

My Pink Stamper Design Team Challenge

Hey everyone!! Today I wanted to share with you my project for the My Pink Stamper design team challenge. She has 2 openings for her next design team and is accepting projects from her followers that would like to be part of her team. How exciting!! The rules of the challenge were simple just make a card, scrapbook page, or any other project with the cricut, the twist is you had to use her favorite colors, which are pink, green, and brown, then you got to chose one more color of your choice which was purple for me.
Okay on to my project. I was playing around in my craft room yesterday and I decided to try to make something different for this challenge. So I made a shape box at least that is what I'm calling it. It was very simple to make, after a little trial and error that is lol.

So what I did was picked my image which is this cute strawberry from the simply charmed cartridge. I cut it out at 10 1/2 inches. I cut the base image of the strawberry twice so that it would have a bottom. Then after a lot of trying to figure out how to make the box part of it, I decided to use the square box from tags, bags, boxes and more cut at 8 3/4 inches.

I used the cuttlebug and swiss dots folder to give the strawberry a little texture. I also used vintage photo distress ink and inked the edges of the green and tattered rose distress ink for the rosy cheeks. Then I put together all the layers of my strawberry. I scored and folded all the parts of the box, and put it together with scoretape. I then used scoretape again and attached the bottom at top of the box to the strawberry.

I hope you all enjoy this project and stop on over to The Pink Stampers website to see all the amazing projects everyone else has entered.

Recipe:
Cricut Expression
Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge
Tags, Bags, Boxes, and more Cricut Cartridge
Paper of choice (I can't remember what brand paper I
used just some in my stash)
Scoretape
