Princess Throwback Thursday Challenge

Hey everyone! Today's post is for the throwback Thursday challenge over at My Creative Time. This weeks challenge was a princess theme, you were to use the Tinkerbell cartridge, or any older cartridge you own if you do not have the Tinkerbell Cartridge. I do not own the Tinkerbell cartridge so I used paper doll dress up.
I have been trying to cover composition notebooks the past few weeks, and decided I wanted to make one for this challenge.
For this I used a compositon notebook I bought at Target I think it was $0.50 but I am not sure. All the paper I used was from a stack I got at wal-mart by colorbok. I love this paper it cuts so well in the cricut and it is only $5 for a stack of 50 sheets .
For the background I used two stamps I have in a princess stamp set that I got from Joann Fabric, I'm not sure what the name of it is. I also used a small $1 stamp pad I got at Joann Fabric to make the background.
I got the font from www.scrappingtable.com it is called Brady Bunch. In order to use the files from this website you have to have sure cuts a lot. I love using this font, I have used it a lot lately.
For the binding I cut a strip of pink paper at 9 1/2 x 3 inches and tried to center it the best I could around the original binding. I then cut a piece of yellow paper at 9 1/2 x 2 1/2 and used my fiskars scallop edge punch.

As for the princess I cut her out at 4 inches, I used the simple sallies face set from peachy keen stamps for the face. As for the dress I first cut it out of vellum and then out of pink cardstock. I then cut the arms and bottom ruffle off the pink dress so the vellum would show under the pink. I added stickles to the arms and the ruffle to give it a little sparkle. The jewles on the crown I attached using the irock. I just got this tool in the mail yesterday and I LOVE it.

I hope you all enjoyed my project!

Ashley :)

  1. I would love to know how you cut your vellum on your cricut my experience has been to have it rip. Great card.
