Ice Cream Card

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to show you a card I made several weeks ago. The card base is a standard A2 size card. The green layer is 5 1/2 x 4.25 inches, the blue layer is 5 x 4 inches. The icecream cone came from the potpourri basket cartridge.

I first cut the ice cream cone out in the shadow feature, then used my gypsy and the hide contour feature, so that I wouldn't have to cut it out twice. It was cut out at 1.5 x 2.75. I then added a little ribbon to the card, and stamped We all scream for ice cream. I'm not sure where i got this stamp I just found it in my stash.

Throwback Thursday Challenge # 9

Hey everyone! Todays post is for a challenge over at My Creative Time. This weeks challenge was to use the paisley cartridge or any older cartridge if you don't own paisley, to make anything you wanted as long as it was back to school themed. I do not own the paisley cartridge so I decided to use the doodlecharms, strech your imagination, and paper doll dress up for the little faces in the bus window.
I am not sure of my measurements for anything on this card. I forgot to measure before I put it together and I already have it in an envelope for my sister, since she is a teacher.

The bus is from doodlecharms, and the trees are from strech your imagination.

What is neat about this card is the bus moves across the card. To do this I cut a slot in the background and placed a penny behind it then added a popdot and put another penny on the popdot. I then added another popdot to the top penny and stuck the bus onto that popdot so it could move across the card.

I used the simple sallies face assortment stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps for the faces in the bus. I hope you like this card.

Look Who's Popped In!

Today I am going to share with you the decorations I made using the cricut, inkscape, sure cuts a lot, and george and basic shapes cartridge for the font, for my sister's classroom. My sister is a 4th and 5th grade special ed teacher, each year she picks a different theme for her classroom. This year she chose a popcorn theme, and she decided it would be good for me to make the stuff for her room. While I got aggravated with it at times I enjoyed making it.
This big popcorn box was not made using the cricut it was made using red and white poster board. We had many laughs while making this box, the first one we made we had a lot of problems getting the stripes to work right. So after we messed the first one up so bad that we couldn't save it we decided it would be better to just start over. This one turned out a lot better.

I made the big popcorn behind the box using inkscape by simply welding different sizes of circles together. I also made the little popcorn going around the box the same way. I then cut the popcorn out using sure cuts a lot and my cricut.

This is a close up of the popcorn that is going around the big box. On each of these peices of popcorn she is going to write the name of each child in her class this year.

These are the little boxes of popcorn I made also using inkscape to make the popcorn and the popcorn box. The circle cut out in the middle is where she is going to write the childs name. These are going to be on their lockers, so each child knows which locker is theirs.

These are the movie tickes I made, again I made these in inkscape and cut them out using sure cuts a lot. There is one on each child's deck with their schedule behind it.

This is her classroom jobs chart. My mom made this chart a few years ago for her. This year I made small tickets, each ticket will have the name of a child in her class and each day she will draw a name for each job.

These last popcorn boxes are going to have a picture of each child behind them and then the boxes are going to be hung up on a bulletin board. I couldn't find a picture I wanted to cut up, but I found this picture that was colored and decided to use it so you can get an idea of what she will be doing with these.

Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge 34 - Sketch

Today's post is for the Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge. This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge. I love Peachy Keen Stamps however, I do not own very many. Now back to the card. I used a black base that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. I am really not sure what the rest of my paper is cut at I just started cutting and playing around with the peices of paper.

The black scallop and white circle were cut using spellbinder dies and my cuttlebug. I used a balloon stamp I have and colored the balloons in with my copic markers. I used pop dots on the back of the black scallop.

The last thing I did was use a happy birthday stamp I have and stamped it with black momento ink.

Throwback Thursday #8

Hi everyone! This post is for the throwback thrusday challenge with Emma at My Creative Time. This week's challenge was to make a birthday card using the celebrations cartridge. I do not have the celebrations cartridge so I used the forever young cartridge to make the flower. I also decided that I would try to make a card I have never made before which is called a gate card. I think it turned out cute.

The base of the card is cut out at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4

It was scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8

The pattern paper on the front was cut out at 4 x 1 3/4

The white square on the front is cut at 3 x3 and the yellow mat is cut out at 2 3/4 x 2 3/4

I cut the flower out at 2 inches.
After I had the pattern paper on the front flaps added I made the white square and yellow mat for the front. I attached the yellow mat to the white then stamped Happy Birthday! on the yellow in black momento ink. The stamp came from a set I got at Joann Fabric. I then added pop dots to the flower and added it to the yellow.

The last thing I did was added two pop dots to the back of the white square and attached it to only one side of the card, so that the card can open.

Monkey Pillow

Hey everyone! So today I wanted to show you a monkey neck pillow I made. I made three of these as Christmas presents for my three neices. All three of them loved these pillows. I think they turned out really cute.

I used a pattern I bought at JoAnn Fabrics. The pattern called for some type of soft material I cant remember what it was called but anyway I couldn't find it at any of the local craft stores that sold material. So I decided to go with fleece. They are really soft and are great pillows to take in the car for a long trip or to just lay on and watch TV.

Hair Bows and Headbands

Hello everyone! Tonight I am going to show off some of my hairbows I make. First up is this adorable korker bow. I made this from grosgrain ribbon that I baked in the oven, then cut down to the size I wanted each curl to be. I then tied them all together with a piece of string, and attached them to a lined alligator clip.


These bows were made using 1 inch ribbon (I think) they measure approximately 4 inches across. They are called pinwheel bows. They are attached to lined alligator clips.

The next bow I will be showing off are these 3 inch pinwheel bows that are perfect for any girl's hair. These are all also attached to a lined alligator clip.

Last up is this headband I made with a plastic headband, and brown and pink grosgrain ribbon. I also added a little bow on the side just to give it a little something extra.
