A few projects

Hello bloggers!
Once again it has been a few months since I have posted anything here. Sorry about that, working second shift just dosent give me much time to craft and post things to my blog, so when I have time off I get to enjoy crafting everyday and get to share it with you. So I will be moving the beginning of next month and have been working on some projects for my new house. A couple of these ideas I got from pintrest, that place is dangerous for us crafters. I will link to the blog that gave me the original idea if I can find them.

First up is these word blocks. I simply got some blocks from my local Hobby Lobby and painted them, then using a silhouette cutting machine cut out the letters in vinyl and added them. Here is the link to them from they blog I used Sassy Sanctuary. The only difference in hers and mine is I sanded the edges down.

My second project for the week is this sign I made. I also got the wood from my local Hobby Lobby and then simply pained it and cut out the words with a silhouette in vinyl and added them to the wood. Couldn't get much easier.

My last project with just might be my favorite is this crayola art. I bought the canvas and flowers from again my local Hobby Lobby and then simply hot glued down the crayons, used a heat gun to melt them and then hot glued my flowers down.

Once again thank you for visiting my blog, hopefully it wont be as long till I am back.

Nook Cover

Well hello to my followers, if I still have any haha. I have been MIA for quite some time now. Working 2nd shift full time dosent leave me much time to craft. I have made quite a few cards while I've been away I just havent had time to upload them to my blog. Well I took this week off of work, I've worked at this place for almost 2 years now and haven't taken any time off, so I decided I deserved a week off.
I've been working on a few projects this week and will show you more once I get the pictures taken. However I couldn't wait to show you this project that I have been wanting to make for a while now. Sorry if the picture aren't that great I took them with my phone.

The only thing missing is the button I need to put on the front to keep it closed. I couldn't find one in my stash I liked, guess that gives me an excuse to go shopping haha. I bought the pattern for this on etsy from Birdful Stitches. The pattern was super easy to follow and very easy to make. I just love how it turned out. Its not perfect but I'm not the greatest sewer. Hopefully I will be back this week with more projects for all of you to see. Have a wonderful day!!

A few projects

Hey bloggers!!! I have been missing for a while. Work has been keeping me busy. I have had time to get some crafting in but just haven't had time to post anything. So today I decided to share the birthday card I made my mom with you and the retirement card I made for someone at work.

First up is the birthday card I made for my mom. I made this "quilt" card. I can't remember what the name of the paper pack I used was, but I thought it was really cute for a quilt. I also used some vintage photo distress ink to ink up the edges. I used the sewing machine to sew it all together. I found the ribbon in my stash, I knew it needed something like ribbon or twine but I just couldn't find what I wanted and finally came across it and thought that was the perfect little touch.

Next up is the retirement card I made for our retiring activity director at the assisted living facility I work at. We decided to give her a western themed going away party because western is just her kind of thing. So I used a martha stewart 6 x 6 pad I had that had all kind of bandana patterns. I cut the horse out from create a critter. All paper is papertrey ink. This card was a little bigger than the normal card because we needed room for all of our residents to sign.

I hope you all enjoy my cards for today, and hopefully I will be back soon
with a few more projects.

My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge

Today I have a project for Emma at My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday challenge. This week's challenge is to use a cricut lite cartridge and bling. I used the four legged friends cartridge for this turtle. I think he is just so cute. I used some stickles on the flowers on his shell for the bling.
The thank you is from one Emma's stamp set So Grateful For You. I can't remember the name of the paper pack that the background paper is from, but the rest of the paper and card base is from papertrey ink. The twine is some I had in my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today.

Father's Day

Hello bloggers! I know I have been away for a while, but work calls. I have gotten several projects done in the past few weeks, I just haven't had time to post them. I decided today to share the father's day card I made.

I used craft card stock for the base, and vintage cream for the mat. I then used the polka dot basics stamp set from papertrey ink. First I stamped the polka dot outline, to make the background then used the solid polka dot to fill it in. I used barn door, wild honey, and walnut stain distress inks, and a blue memento ink pad to fill in the dots. I then used some versamark and went over each dot and then used clear embossing powder just to give it a little something extra. I then used vintage photo distress ink to go over the entire background to give in a more distressed look.

I used the alphabet cartridge that comes in the cricut expression 2 to cut out dad. I used terracota tile, ripe avocado, and dark chocolate papertrey ink paper. I felt like it still needed something so I used some twine and a button from my stash on the bottom.

I hope you all enjoyed my card today, and hopefully I will have a few more projects to post in the near future.
